Introduction

Excalibur, the sword that King Arthur left stuck in the rock, is the name given by Philippe Starck to the toilet brush he made in collaboration with Heller.

On February 16, 1995, the Home section of the New York Times headlined “Great Design for a Humble Object” the presentation of this object.

“Designing a toilet brush would be the most humble service I could give. I always thought it would be the apotheosis of my career.” Philippe Starck.

Today, 30 years later, Starck and Heller reissue this wonderful object with 4 new colors (Acid Yellow, Light Gray, White and Chocolate). Made of recycled consumer polypropylene , it evokes the hilt of a fencing sword and fits perfectly into its receiving cup.

Description

When push comes to shove, Philippe Stark always surprises. His extraordinary vision and his eagerness to democratize design, turns his ideas into objects of worship and daily use. I would highlight the excellent protection of Excalibur, preventing splashes. Also, the receiving vessel will guard the weapon with ease and safety.

On the other hand, regarding its composition (100% recycled consumer polypropylene), it is very pleasant to comment that it is an object that, at least, has already completed one cycle of use, so we should not only consider it ecological but also sustainable (100% recyclable).
