Information

Description

Since 1986, the Aitor Jungle King III knife has stood out for its excellent concept and ergonomics. As the third link in the Aitor Knives survival range, it is a military knife for beginners in tactical and survival tasks.

It has a satin finish giving it a discreet and elegant design, ideal for carrying in military equipment. The cut control of this Jungle King III knife is very good, and perfect for activities such as hunting and survival, along with its great tearing capacity.

Handle

Made of green polyamide , it is very resistant to falls and shocks, having excellent behavior in different weather conditions and all types of work.

It is a hollow handle, inside, a small curved steel multi-tool (can opener, bottle opener and flat screwdriver) wraps a small tube with survival tools: scalpel, dressings, sewing kit and fishing kit.

The threaded metal cap contains a small, handy compass (it must be used once unscrewed from the handle to avoid magnetic interference).

The guard of this knife, in the same piece as the handle, is correct and contains an Allen pin that secures the blade to the handle. Overall, the handle is suitable for young people and adults with small or normal hands, and comfortable for carrying out all kinds of work.

The Jungle King III knife maintains a light weight for transport and ideal for precise use in cutting and sawing tasks.

Blade

The blade is made of X42Cr13 stainless steel, one of the most widely used steels due to its performance, its quality/price ratio and its variety of edges. Its composition: 0.38-0.45% carbon, 1% manganese, 12-13.5% chromium, 1% silicon and 0.03% sulfur, give it a hardness of 55/58 HRC and good edge retention.

Its behaviour is excellent against corrosion and salinisation and its satin finish is very uniform and does not emit light flashes in use.

The style of this blade is modified Drop Point, slightly “falcatado”, perfect for intensive use on any material or surface. Its large straight edge makes clean cuts and is susceptible to easy subsequent sharpening. The spine has a 48mm saw part.and the thickness of the blade is 2.5mm. (4.0 mm. at its anchorage).

Sheath

The sheath of this magnificent knife is rigid, made of military green polyamide (Kydex) and features the logo of a hiker. It is perfect for safe, fast and comfortable transport. The knife fit inside is very good and is firmly held in place thanks to the hook and eye closure. The holster can be attached to the belt thanks to a safety loop.

It has a rear container that contains a small mirror (to emit signals) and a tubular elastic band that, inserted into the lower fork of the case, turns it into a handle or slingshot. At the bottom it has a cord for adjustment to the thigh.

Feedback

Getting started, especially these days, in the world of survival, more than a hobby, is beginning to be an obligation. This Aitor Jungle King III survival knife is a very good way to get started in these tasks.

I have selected it, not only because it is the little brother of the saga, but because, in initiation, starting at the beginning is usually good advice.

Of this magnificent knife I would highlight its characteristics, suitable for any cutting or tearing task. I would also highlight its content, weight, its grip and its additional survival tools. Its sheath is very well designed and allows the knife to be moved over the belt with hardly any movement and discomfort.

To be missing, among the survival tools, I would include a flint to make fire, otherwise it is an excellent tool for initiation in survival within nature, especially for young people.

As a note about the price, I have found this same knife on the internet from 85,00 €, although I have preferred, due to the guarantee offered by Aitor Knives, to include only its link.

If you are, or consider yourself young, you are in time to use it. If not, too.
