e-commerce
Introduction:
E-commerce, also known as electronic commerce, internet commerce or online commerce, is the buying and selling of products or services over the internet, either through social networks, mobile applications or other websites (Source: wikipedia).
At the dawn of the Internet, web spaces were primarily used for information purposes. The eminently corporate character made the network of networks the perfect scenario to document and make themselves known. Day by day, new functionalities were added to the Internet: Internet e-mail, multimedia file reproduction, online games, payment protocols, etc… It is from this milestone, the electronic payment, when it makes sense and e-commerce begins. The companies eBay and later PayPal perfected digital transactions and opened up the world’s largest and fastest marketplace.
Today, although there are still some activities that are not present in e-commerce, any buying and selling activity has an online aspect. The globalization of markets, the speed and technology provided by online commerce, as well as the enormous improvement in the distribution and logistics of goods worldwide have made possible, along with other factors, the definitive take-off of online commerce.
Advantages
The main advantages of e-commerce are the following:
- Ease: Thanks to the usefulness of internet search engines(Google, Bing, Yandex, etc…), we can search for products and services from our desktop or with our cell phone in the subway or in the park, by typing or dictation. Easy, isn’t it?
- Convenience and speed: Like a flash of lightning, different options and proposals about what we have searched for will appear on our screen. We can browse them one by one and even save the products we are most interested in in our wish lists. Without leaving the site, we will have visited 3 or 4 stores in 3 or 4 cities on 2 or more continents. Convenient and fast, isn’t it?
- Security: E-commerce is a very secure form of commerce. The international legislation that protects e-commerce is very protective of the consumer and very demanding in the fulfillment of the seller. However, be sure to visit https:/ pages, with Sitelock certificate and secure payment gateways, Paypal, Stripe, etc… Super secure, isn’t it?
- Features: You can customize the product, reserve it, receive it with the shipping method you select (even free). In addition, you have 20 days to return it and a 2-year warranty. No physical retailer offers so many features. Solvent, right?
The Store
News, our main activity, occupies most of our time, although, it is no secret, we also spend part of our time on e-commerce.
Our online store was born from the need to offer a complete service to our readers. The objective is to make it easier for users to access all the products that are our editorial focus. To do this, we use the Store, where you can purchase items from our stock, or items from the reference brands in their own e-commerce (affiliate products).
In this way, we cover the entire range of accessories, complements and objects that are, I repeat, our editorial objective. In this area of our magazine you will also be able to interact by rating the products you have purchased and you will earn reward points that will allow you to purchase products for free. Check out our points program.
Categories
We organize our products into categories. We have designed these for basic organization, the first way to classify our products and services:
- Accessories: Example, a ink cartridge for a fountain pen.
- Complements: For example, a tie pin.
- Objects: For example, an evening bag.
- Advertising: Advertising spaces for sale. (Restricted)
- News: Latest.
- Best sellers: The most purchased.
- Offers: Super discounts, liquidations, seasonal sales, etc…
In turn, there are two main product categories: Stock Products ( Blue Button: Add to Cart) and Affiliated Products ( Green Button: View and Buy).
Tags
The basic classification of Categories is generic and conceptual. It raises large groups of items with a single common denominator.
Another type of classification of our products and services are the labels. According to the type of article, use, material, brand, etc… we create labels(Leather, writing, Philippi Design, travel, etc…). These labels grow as we add products and help the presentation of articles with an additional common feature.
The sidebar offers some of the most frequently consulted tags. On the product labels page they are all sorted alphabetically.
To facilitate the search for products, at the top of the sidebar, you have an advanced predicitive search engine that suggests answers with each character clicked. In addition, both on the Category pages and in the Store you have filters to refine your searches.
Additional benefits
All our products have a green heart with a white cross in the upper left corner of the image. By clicking on this icon, the product will be added to your wish list. This list is available in your user menu, in the main menu, once you are logged in, and allows you to add items to the shopping cart or delete them.
You can include in this list products from our stock or affiliated products. You can also share on Social Networks or email your wish list.
On the other hand, at the top of the Store, Product Categories and Product page, appears a message with indications on how to obtain, depending on the action, reward points from our Points Program.
By performing the indicated action you will obtain points that you will see in your account and you will be able to exchange them for items.
Checkout
If you have added all the products to your cart and you are satisfied, you can finalize the purchase. In this process, you can deduct a Discount Coupon or redeem reward points as the amount(Total or partial) of the payment.

You will receive an email with your order information. Subsequently, when the goods are shipped, we will send you an e-mail with the shipment data for tracking and brief correct instructions for reception the the order.
Rights and guarantees
One of the most important characteristics of e-commerce is the great security that the current legislation provides to the consumer of this type of transactions.
Both the World Trade Organization and the European Union have, in their catalog of standards, mandatory laws for their member states in relation to e-commerce.
Some of the rights recognized for consumers in e-commerce are: the right of withdrawal (or cancellation of the order), the return of goods and warranty claims. All these rights must be explicitly stated in the web spaces destined to e-commerce. Therefore, it is always very good and interesting to verify all these points in the Terms and Conditions of any e-commerce website.
We provide our customers and users with all necessary information in our Terms and Conditions and offer complaint forms on our Downloads page.
