Social Media
Introduction:
There are people and organizations that connect on the internet through structures called Social Networks. They are united by common interests or values and take advantage of these networks to connect quickly and without limitations. In the virtual, we are talking about sites and / or applications that allow the exchange of information between people and companies.
A fact to highlight is the wide and rapid impact they have obtained within society, and that has allowed the user to accept, the free transfer of their data to allow their connection to the Social Network. Knowing the cost of privacy of Social Networks, its members have diversified their use in such a way that they have become huge platforms that serve both to call a demonstration, and to broadcast live the final of the World Chess Championship.
The range of possibilities is so great and the diffusion so wide that the growth of these platforms since 1990 has been exponentially enormous. In the early 2000s, Friendster and My Space emerged. A little later, LinkedIn and Facebook arrived.
Data from 2023 ensures 4,760 million active users of social networks, 59.4% of the world’s population. On average, each user uses 7 social networks. The most popular are: Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. The average daily use is 2 hours and 31 minutes, with TikTok having the longest usage time.
Social Media:
We tend to confuse the terms Social Networks and Social Media, the latter being the technology that makes communication possible, while the first, the Social Network, is the set of people or organizations that share it and that, therefore, present that common affinity of interests and values. Social Media comes to expand the radius of action, adding media that already existed before the internet, such as video, radio, TV, newspapers and magazines and closing the circle with blogs and, therefore, Social Networks. The nexus of all technologies is the Internet, so Social Media becomes the common gaming space of all Social Networks.
Advantages of Social Networks:
It is very difficult to explain how a means of communication such as the Social Network has been accepted by so many millions of people from different social, cultural, intellectual and language strata. In line with this growth, companies have not been left behind and have seen the power of diffusion of these structures and have taken advantage of it for the dissemination of their products and services.
Clear advantages:
– Widespread use
– Message customization
– Direct relationship with each client
– Audience segmentation
– Wide dissemination with low cost
– Instant information
Disadvantages of social networks:
Although Social Networks have brought us many forms of connection and interaction, there are risks that we should not ignore. We detail those with the greatest public impact:
– Risk in personal and professional image: The continuous interaction in Social Networks can reveal some comment or inappropriate behavior.
– Personal contact is eliminated and limited and replaced by a dehumanized digital image.
– “Social” stress: Imperative need to interact constantly to publish anything.
– Insecurity: Sharing data continuously can lead to the interest of strangers to know certain of our customs with the danger that entails.
Our Social Networks:
We use Social Networks mainly to disseminate our digital magazine of accessories, accessories and objects. The networks we use are the following:
– Faceebook, the famous network conceived by Mark Zuckerberg today has 2,958 million users worldwide.
– Twitter, recently acquired by Elon Musk, has 566 million users worldwide.
Pinterest, more than 442 million people use Pinterest worldwide.
– Tumblr, with more than 475 million accounts, has created a unique space in which its loyal users invest an average of 10 minutes and 25 seconds for each visit, an unimaginable figure for most websites.
– Instagram, recently incorporated into our field, has approximately 2,000 million users, acquiring the most select profile of users.
– RSS, away from complicated algorithms and with a simple operation, puts in value the content that interests you and informs you directly and discreetly every day, avoiding the accessory and focusing on what is important. Due to the continuous harassment of privacy carried out by Social Networks , it is returning to the beginning, republishing 475 million users.
– Youtube, the reference portal for videos, where publishing is not complicated and locating tutorials, experiences, reviews, and any other content you can imagine is really simple. The last Social Networkthat we have incorporated into our magazine and in which we have high hopes for dissemination. Nothing more and nothing less than 2,560 million people use this Social Network.
You can encourage yourself to interact in any of them, click on “Like” or share content with whoever you want. ![]()
