An explanation of what happened at the beginning, <strong>what ideas have been taken into account<\/strong>, what software was chosen to develop the project and an analysis of the potential customers that the digital magazine may have. We hope you like it.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%9CThe_First_Steps%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>&#8220;The First Steps&#8221;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While it is true that the beginnings, especially in the face of the unknown, <strong>are the most difficult,<\/strong> the beginning of this project <strong>was slow.<\/strong> I say slow because when I faced almost 100% new <strong>concepts<\/strong> and <strong>unknown paths<\/strong>, I had to take short steps and with foresight to turn back.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s normal to prepare an idea and, some time later, realize that <strong>it breaks another idea<\/strong>, that it&#8217;s <strong>too expensive<\/strong>, that it&#8217;s <strong>too big<\/strong> or that <strong>we don&#8217;t know how to develop it<\/strong>. That&#8217;s why <strong>every precaution is good<\/strong>, preparing each idea <strong>in an &#8220;independent&#8221; container<\/strong>, <strong>prioritizing the containers<\/strong> and setting up a <strong>structured tree, <\/strong>is what I did. This will reduce the steps backwards and we will move forward <strong>faster and safer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To incorporate an idea into a container we have to take into consideration <strong>4 essential points<\/strong>: <strong>justification<\/strong> (Is it really necessary?), <strong>technical solution<\/strong> (how to carry it out?, what software do we need?), <strong>budgetary impact<\/strong> (what is the cost of this additional software?, can we afford it?) and <strong>implementation and development<\/strong> (how long does it take to implement?, will we be able to develop and scale it?).<\/p>\n<p>For the same reason, <strong>To reject or remove an idea<\/strong> from the project, we must answer these questions in the negative, such as: <strong>Decline a live chat<\/strong> (we don&#8217;t need it), <strong>reject a dedicated server<\/strong> (it&#8217;s too big) or <strong>reject ideas<\/strong> because <strong>They are more<\/strong> <strong>of a dream and a chimera<\/strong> than <strong>A reasonable proposal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Idea\"><\/span><strong>The Idea<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It all started at <strong>the Salone International del Mobile in Milan<\/strong> in <strong>1995<\/strong>. There I was given a copy of the magazine <strong>Orologi. <\/strong>At first I just took a look at it, I was fascinated by the <strong>images<\/strong>, the <strong>quality of the paper<\/strong>, the professionalism of the <strong>descriptions<\/strong>, the <strong>typography<\/strong>, the <strong>design<\/strong>, the <strong>elegance<\/strong>&#8230;, in short, <strong>all! <\/strong>Later in the evening, I wondered: how is it possible that <strong>Rolex<\/strong> and <strong>Omega<\/strong> is in the same magazine?, but also together with <strong>TAG Heuer<\/strong>, <strong>Hublot<\/strong>, <strong>Audemars Piguet<\/strong>, <strong>Breitling<\/strong> and all the big brands&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve always thought that it&#8217;s not good to share &#8220;the same girl&#8221;, but, <strong>this time, yes<\/strong>. It is about professionalizing publishing to the point that, for brands, <strong>it is essential to be &#8220;where it needs to be&#8221;. <\/strong>I imagined the editor of the magazine with any of the directors of these prestigious brands asking: &#8220;Do you make luxury watches?&#8221; -Yes?. &#8211; So, <strong>this is the place for you<\/strong>. He had discovered the <strong>true importance<\/strong> of that magazine.<\/p>\n<p>From that moment on, I understood that, sooner or later, I would carry out <strong>a project based on that magazine<\/strong>. Today we are here, we have <strong>professionalized publishing,<\/strong> for brands, advertising is <strong>more profitable and economical<\/strong>; For readers, <strong>the best offer is here<\/strong>, selected and very complete. <strong>It&#8217;s a win-win<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_software\"><\/span><strong>The software<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I was looking for &#8220;<strong>free code software&#8221; <\/strong>(in quotation marks, of course because all software is code), that is, in a <strong>&#8220;wysiwyg&#8221; <\/strong>environment and with the ease of<strong> &#8220;drag and drop&#8221;,<\/strong> simple and open. I asked, &#8220;What software are newspapers and magazines made of?&#8221; The answer was: with many programs, but especially <strong>Adobe InDesign<\/strong> and <strong>QuarkXPress<\/strong>. But they also need programs to edit images and custom pages like <strong>Dremweaver<\/strong> and <strong>Fireworks<\/strong>. Others use <strong>Movable Type<\/strong> and <strong>WordPress<\/strong>, in addition to <strong>SquareSpace, Ghost, Shopify, Weebly, Jimdo, Wix, Joomla, Blogger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So, with such a wide range of possibilities, I summed up my needs to one software: <strong>code-free, intuitive, versatile, versatile, multi-purpose, and scalable<\/strong>. And after seeing all the <strong>benefits<\/strong>, <strong>advantages<\/strong>, <strong>drawbacks<\/strong> and <strong>prices<\/strong> of all, I opted for <strong>WordPress<\/strong> because: it maintains a <strong>40% worldwide share in CMS <\/strong>(content management software), allows for an infinite number of <strong>designs and customizations<\/strong> (themes and plugins), maintains <strong>constant updates<\/strong> (very important), allows <strong>freedom of movement<\/strong> (hosting mobility) and, in addition, <strong>It&#8217;s free.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Audience_Potential_Customer\"><\/span><strong>Audience &amp; Potential Customer<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I had to <strong>build an audience<\/strong> in the magazine and to do this I had to look for people with affinity for: the <strong>world of the internet<\/strong>, used to <strong>receiving and sending emails<\/strong>, participating in <strong>social networks<\/strong> and, sometimes, <strong>subscribers<\/strong> (newspapers, magazines, alarms, health, newsletter, etc&#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>The first tests we carried out provided us with a basic <strong>reader<\/strong> profile: unisex &gt;30 years old, medium\/high income, regular reader. We tested a <strong>user<\/strong> profile like this: unisex &gt;30 years old, medium\/high income, reader, values information and is familiar with e-commerce. The last step would be the <strong>customer:<\/strong> unisex &gt; 30 years old, middle\/high income, reader, informed, e-commerce user, values security. He appreciates premium luxury brands and values their history and exclusivity.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, knowing that we had <strong>to get readers<\/strong> first, I <strong>adjusted the editorial offer<\/strong>.
