The tip is protected with a <strong>maroon cap with a metal clip<\/strong> attached to pressure. A manufacturer of medical instruments, he visited <strong>the United States<\/strong> in <strong>1920<\/strong> and saw different pens that were already in use in the country. In <strong>1928<\/strong> he designed his first fountain pen without a nib, replaced by a tubular nib. This pen became known as <strong>Tiku<\/strong> all over the world and 3 years later <strong>(1931)<\/strong> he got <strong>the first patent<\/strong> for this pen.   <\/p>\n<p>By the following year the company was exporting to <strong>34 countries<\/strong>, <strong>Tiku<\/strong> had become a very popular instrument. In <strong>1935<\/strong><strong>, the Multipen ballpoint pen <\/strong>was born, in four colors with graphite leads and an ingenious rotary system. It was <strong>1953<\/strong> when <strong>Helmut Riepe<\/strong> (son of the founder) expanded the<strong> Tiku<\/strong> concept by creating the <strong>&#8220;technical pen&#8221;.<\/strong> <strong>Rollerpen<\/strong> and <strong>Tiku-Kuli<\/strong> were its two variants. In <strong>1958<\/strong> he would launch the second generation of technical pens: the <strong>Variant<\/strong> and the <strong>Varioscript<\/strong>, both with great success.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>1961<\/strong> was the year of the <strong>name change<\/strong>, based on the German words <strong>&#8220;roter ring&#8221; (red ring)<\/strong> the brand is renamed <strong>rOtring <\/strong>and identifies all products that carry the <strong>red ring<\/strong>. The <strong>70s<\/strong> and <strong>80s<\/strong> were his great years of success. Our protagonist was born in <strong>1976<\/strong>, being added <strong>Rotring Isograph<\/strong> to the range of technical pens.  <\/p>\n<p>In<strong> 1979<\/strong> <strong>Rotring<\/strong> launched its<strong> Tikky<\/strong> mechanical pencil, which has been and is a world reference in mechanical pens. In <strong>1983<\/strong> the <strong>Rapidograph stylograph<\/strong> set a <strong>new standard in performance<\/strong> thanks to its capillary cartridge. <strong>1984<\/strong> was the year of the launch of<strong> ArtPen<\/strong>, their calligraphy fountain pen. <\/p>\n<p>In <strong>1989 Rotring<\/strong> introduced the <strong>600 model<\/strong>, whose hexagonal body is made from<strong> a single piece of brass<\/strong>, which provides enough weight so that the architect does not have to apply additional pressure on his creations. During <strong>1997<\/strong> , the second generation of the <strong>famous Tikky mechanical pencil<\/strong> was launched: the <strong>Tikky II<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>In the following years, <strong>Rotring<\/strong> continued to launch new products by incorporating rulers, compasses, etc. into its range of products.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>1998<\/strong> the American firm <strong>Newell Rubbermaid<\/strong> acquired <strong>Rotring<\/strong>, twinning the famous German brand with other popular brands such as <strong>Parker<\/strong> (pens and fountain pens), <strong>Waterman<\/strong> (fountain pens) and <strong>Papermate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>2014<\/strong> it introduced its <strong>hybrid mechanical pen 800<\/strong> + stylus.
