The Story<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n1924<\/strong> – Several customers asked Montblanc<\/strong> craftsmen for a fountain pen “for Sundays”,<\/strong> and the Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong> was born.<\/p>\n1935<\/strong> – New winds in the company made new launches and innovations. A new cylindrical shape, a wide ring on the cap<\/strong>, bold clips<\/strong> and the two-tone nib<\/strong> were used for the new fountain pen.<\/p>\n1949<\/strong> – The birth of an icon. A new look was chosen for the fountain pen, the iconic design became famous for the cigar shape<\/strong>. There are 3 models<\/strong>: 142<\/strong>, 144<\/strong> and 146<\/strong> (by sizes). In 1952<\/strong> a new size was launched: the iconic 149<\/strong>.<\/p>\n1960<\/strong> – The challenge of the new re-industrialization increased creativity. The Linie 60<\/strong> was made of injection-moulded resin<\/strong> and its jet-shaped<\/strong> appearance replaced the old Baroque style<\/strong> of the Mesiterst\u00fcck<\/strong>. Except in one case: the unbeatable 149<\/strong>.<\/p>\n1973<\/strong> – Montblanc<\/strong> started the 1970s<\/strong> with a lot of determination and regained the cigar form<\/strong> for the Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong>. To this day.<\/p>\n\n- The Nib<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
From AU585<\/strong> or Au750<\/strong> gold foil<\/strong>, in a 35-step<\/strong> process, Montblanc<\/strong> artisans sculpt their famous nibs. The silhouette of the nib<\/strong> is moulded with a pressure of up to 18 tonnes<\/strong>. and it is carefully pressed into its delicate shape. Montblanc artisans<\/strong> hand polish the iridium tip<\/strong> to the perfect width and size.<\/p>\nEach nib must pass several quality checks<\/strong>, including a sound check<\/strong> to ensure a satisfactory<\/strong> and smooth<\/strong> typing experience. 8 different nibs<\/strong> are offered with different widths to experiment with different styles of writing and artistic expression<\/strong>. Also offered is the innovative flexible nib<\/strong>, part of the 2019 Calligraphy<\/strong> line. A special nib<\/strong> can also be ordered on request for an exclusive<\/strong> and personal<\/strong> writing experience.<\/p>\n\n- The Matter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In the early 1920s, 1930s and 1950s, bodies were made of ebonite<\/strong> and celluloid<\/strong>. Today, Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong> is made with “precious resin”,<\/strong> which, subjected to a high temperature (280\u00baC), is injected to obtain the bodies of writing instruments.<\/p>\nThere is a certain aura of mystery<\/strong> surrounding the term “precious resin”<\/strong> used by Montblanc<\/strong>. Resin is a coloured acrylic thermoplastic<\/strong> (PMMA)<\/strong> on which moulding and machining actions are carried out. The resin used by Montblanc<\/strong> is injected<\/strong>, using a lower resistance<\/strong> plastic material. The particularity of its resin is its special shine<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThis material is said to be also used by the Aurora<\/strong> brand. The plastic in question (Zytel)<\/strong> contains a small part of glass<\/strong> , which would give it greater shine<\/strong> but more brittleness<\/strong>. The characteristic brilliance of Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong> is not only due to the so-called “precious resin”,<\/strong> but also to the careful injection process<\/strong> and careful polishing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n- The Construction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Assembling and testing a Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong> requires more than 70 processes<\/strong> , which Montblanc’s<\/strong> master craftsmen perform with unrivalled care and care<\/strong> . The various special<\/strong>, commemorative<\/strong> and personalised<\/strong> series require maximum specialisation<\/strong> and absolute precision. Achieving this level requires many years of practice<\/strong> that only a master craftsman achieves over time. Each Montblanc<\/strong> is imprinted with the brand’s DNA<\/strong> and it is a source of satisfaction for the masters to be reunited with one of their old works.<\/p>\nThe origin collection<\/strong><\/p>\nTo celebrate the first 100 years of the Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong>, Montblanc<\/strong> has created this evocative collection of fountain pens,<\/strong> ballpoint pens<\/strong> and rollerballs<\/strong>. Inspired by original designs<\/strong> from the 1920s<\/strong> and the Meisterst\u00fcck style<\/strong> itself, this collection updates<\/strong> the image while maintaining the original essence<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThe concept<\/strong> has been reinterpreted<\/strong> through: a new clip<\/strong>, recovering emblematic colours<\/strong>, the engraving of the original logo,<\/strong> new vintage designs <\/strong>(Dou\u00e9 and Solitaire) and the use of a new nib<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n- The New Clip<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The new clip represents an approach to the designs of the 20s of the last century<\/strong>, recovering the curved style<\/strong> and the final ball<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n- Emblematic colours<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In a clear nod to the usual Meisterst\u00fcck colours<\/strong>, <\/strong>black, coral, blue and green are used.<\/p>\n\n- Engraving<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The original Meistest\u00fcck logo<\/strong> goes back to its origins and features prominently<\/strong> on the cap<\/strong>. Made with the technique of engraving and subsequent pigmentation<\/strong>, it reproduces the words Montblanc<\/strong> and Meisterst\u00fcck <\/strong>(in the traditional font typology) between which the silhouette of the famous Montblanc peak<\/strong> and the number 4810<\/strong> evoking its altitude in meters can be seen.<\/p>\n\n- The designs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To some extent recovered from the old Montblanc archives<\/strong> of the time, the Dou\u00e9<\/strong> and Solitare<\/strong> designs are incorporated into this model for the first time.<\/p>\n\n- The Centennial Nib<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Made with the meticulousness<\/strong> and precision<\/strong> that only Montblanc’s master craftsmen<\/strong> can do, this nib features a number of engraved novelties<\/strong>: the number 100<\/strong> (for the centenary), the years 1924<\/strong> and 2024<\/strong> (highlighting the period) and, of course, the number 4810<\/strong> that has always accompanied the Meisterst\u00fcck<\/strong>.<\/p>\nThese are the wickers that make this basket so relevant.
