This is the case.<\/p>\n<p>The newsletter I received contained some <strong>really attractive sunglasses<\/strong> images. Well, attractive by design, yes, but, more than attractive, they seemed to me <strong>small works of art<\/strong>, with <strong>delicate engravings<\/strong>, very <strong>well resolved joints<\/strong> and <strong>very profiled shapes<\/strong>. The frames immediately reminded me of the <strong>age-old traditions<\/strong> of Japanese craftsmanship. He designed for the company <strong>Sanai<\/strong>. In 1964, together with <strong>Takada<\/strong>, he embarked for <strong>Paris<\/strong>, where he was influenced by the <strong>Art Deco period,<\/strong> the <strong>metal industry<\/strong> of the <strong>19th century <\/strong>and the details of <strong>the Gothic Cathedrals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All this inspiration led her to <strong>Japan,<\/strong> created in 1967<strong>, <\/strong>your fashion company <strong>Nicole &amp; Co, Ltd. <\/strong>In 1997, in an interview with the magazine <strong>WWD<\/strong>, <strong>Matsuda<\/strong> said <em>: &#8220;When Kenzo and I went to France 35 years ago, I saw in Elle magazine a model named Nicole. She became my favorite model.&#8221;<\/em> To this day, <a href=\"Nicole%20&amp;%20Co,%20Ltd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Nicole &amp; Co, Ltd\">Nicole &amp; Co, Ltd,<\/a><strong> <\/strong>is still in the fashion world in<strong> Japan<\/strong>. <strong> Naotaka Kinomura<\/strong>, President of <strong>Nicole Co. Ltd<\/strong>, stated:-<em>&#8220;Matsuda&#8217;s ever-positive attitude gave us all tremendous power.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following the success of his clothing brand, <strong>Mitsuhiro<\/strong> launched his eyewear collection. The <strong>Matsuda Eyewear<\/strong> line had a huge impact and success, instantly, becoming an icon of <strong>90s pop culture<\/strong> . Films such as <strong>Terminator 2<\/strong>, <strong>Beetle Juice<\/strong> , and <strong>Boomerang<\/strong> used his creations. He later collaborated with photographer <strong>Nan Goldin<\/strong>, winning the <strong>Art Directors Club<\/strong> of <strong>New York<\/strong> Award (1996).<\/p>\n<p>He passed away in 2008. <strong>Takada<\/strong>, upon his passing, said: <em>&#8220;In Japan, he was a pioneer of ready-to-wear and was appreciated for his talent. All <strong>of Matsuda&#8217;s<\/strong> production is done in his own workshop in the city of <strong>Sabae <\/strong>(Fukui Prefecture, west of <strong>Tokyo<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>His first creations are a perfect symbiosis of <strong>haute couture<\/strong> and <strong>architecture<\/strong>. He combined, with exquisite taste, <strong>Gothic architecture<\/strong>, <strong>Victorian art<\/strong>, <strong>traditional Japanese fashion<\/strong> and even <strong>American jazz<\/strong>. Since the brand&#8217;s inception, it has had its own identity: <strong>cultural heritage<\/strong>, <strong>craftsmanship<\/strong> and the <strong>future<\/strong>. At its core, it was about <strong>bringing art into fashion,<\/strong> turning the <strong>ethereal<\/strong> into <strong>the eternal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1990s, the <strong>Matsuda<\/strong> brand shut down its operations, leaving thousands of loyal fans <strong>orphaned<\/strong> . Even so, many of his items found a niche in the <strong>collector&#8217;s market<\/strong>, turning some of his glasses into <strong>true cult objects<\/strong>.
