This happens to very few brands, only a select few, among which I am honored to introduce <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/st-dupont.es\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">S.T. T. Dupont, brief history:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/S._T._Dupont\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">SimonTissot Dupont<\/strong><\/a> was born in <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">1847<\/strong> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Faverges\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Faverges<\/strong><\/a>, a small village in the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">French Alps<\/strong>. The surname <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Tissot<\/strong> was very common, so it was customary to add a nickname to the surname <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">&#8220;Tissot&#8221;<\/strong> to differentiate one <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Tissot<\/strong> from another. In this case, because his family&#8217;s mill was next to the bridge at <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Arcier<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon<\/strong> was renamed <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon Tissot &#8220;of the bridge&#8221; (Dupont)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1848, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Fran\u00e7ois Tissot<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon&#8217;s<\/strong> uncle, moved to <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Paris<\/strong> to seek his fortune. He began collaborating with a famous photographer named <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Cremiere<\/strong>. At the death of <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Cremiere<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Fran\u00e7ois Tissot<\/strong> He became head of the photographic studio and was appointed court photographer of the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">King of France, Napoleon III. <\/strong>Fran\u00e7ois claimed his nephew <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon<\/strong> to accompany you in <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Paris<\/strong>, appointed him his assistant and introduced him to the great men of the time, to whom <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon<\/strong> He would start by selling some of the briefcases he designed.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, with his entrepreneurial spirit, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Simon<\/strong> set up a carriage company, which unfortunately went bankrupt due to a fire. Dupont<\/strong> and, at the age of 25, opened his fur workshop where he would make highly appreciated objects (bags, travel sets, etc &#8230;) with great success among a very refined clientele (<strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Eugenia de Montijo<\/strong> commissioned a toiletry bag).<\/p>\n<p>His personalized travel trunks became a must-have accessory for the European elite. Due to the success, he expanded his workshop at the end of <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">World War I<\/strong> to a three-storey building together with his sons <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Lucien<\/strong> and <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Andr\u00e9<\/strong>, who helped him direct the work of 100 craftsmen. From this period stands out the creation of sumptuous trunks commissioned for celebrities such as the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Mahraja of Patiala<\/strong>, the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Baron de Rothschild<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Al Capone<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Alexandre Dumas<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Julio_Verne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Jules Verne<\/strong><\/a> or <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Claude Monet<\/strong>. Manufactured with care, they used the softest skins of goat and lamb, they also used exotic skins of alligator and python snake. On the occasion of the marriage of <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Princess Elizabeth of England<\/strong> , the last trunk was made of lavender leather.<\/p>\n<p>The express request of the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Maharaja of Patiala <\/strong>To incorporate a lighter in one of its toiletry bags, was the beginning of this famous product line of<strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\"> S.T. Dupont. <\/strong>The success of the lighters was such that they had to open a workshop in the center of<strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\"> Paris. <\/strong>Unfortunately, with the depression of 1929, they had to return activity back to <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Faverges<\/strong>. Although the restructuring of personnel was very important, the family continued to manufacture custom items for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">World War II<\/strong> led to <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">S.T. T. Dupont, innovation:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As a result of chance, bad luck or constant research, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">S.T. Dupont<\/strong> has reinvented itself several times with numerous innovations.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">S.T. Dupont<\/strong> has worked with Chinese lacquer with artisans who have developed their own technique that even today remains in absolute secrecy. Chinese lacquer, in particular, the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Art of the Shang Dynasty<\/strong> (c 1600-105 BC) was developed with very sophisticated methods, establishing numerous production centers, expanding with trade to <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Korea<\/strong>, <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Japan<\/strong> and other countries of <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Southeast Asia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 1930 <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Lucien Tissot Dupont<\/strong>, son of the founder of the firm, devised a new system of leather tanning made with <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">diamond powder<\/strong>, giving his pieces a unique strength and shine.<\/p>\n<p>In the middle of <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">World War II<\/strong>, the <strong style=\"font-style: inherit;\">brothers Tissot Dupont<\/strong>, designed the first luxury gasoline lighter. Dupont<\/strong> lighters are made from a block of solid brass, which allows to obtain a resistant object, which adorned with noble materials, can withstand the passage of time. Dupont<\/strong> and this is how they are still made today, iconic objects that require 150 manual operations and more than 60 hours of high-precision work.<\/p>\n<p>Some exquisite and rare creations require more than 70 pieces that require between 500 and 600 operations to be finished.
